Why should you hire me?
In one word: my experience.
After being in numerous bad
relationships, I took a three- year dating hiatus to focus on being the right person rather than finding the right person. During those
three years, I focused on improving my health, finances, and relationship with
God.
I began running half
marathons. I read Dave Ramsey’s book, Total
Money Makeover, and began eliminating debt. I also began attending a small
group Bible Study, serving at church, and volunteering for more organizations
than I can shake a stick at.
In 2009, my younger brother,
Isaac, called me with exciting news. He was getting married! Now, on the one
hand I was excited for him, but on the other hand I was a bit frantic. Because
I knew that I would have to face my inquisitive relatives and all of their
questions. You know the questions I’m referring to “Do you have a boyfriend?”
“Why Not?” “Did you know that, you are not getting any younger?”
So, I started to blog about
how I was feeling and up sprang this supportive community of women saying “me
too”, “I’ve been there”, “Say it, sister!”
A week after attending my
brother’s wedding, I began dating a wonderful man. We initially met in graduate
school at the University of Texas at El Paso. (I moved to El Paso to live with
my grandfather after my grandmother died). But, we ran into each other on the
Subway in Washington, D.C. and reconnected. We had both relocated
d from El Paso to Washington, D.C. Nothing short of a miracle!

I grew up in a happy family
with seven siblings. My dad was a
traveling book sales man for a long time, and would always call at night to
sing “I just called to say I love you” by Stevie Wonder. He was intentional.
My mom gave up a promising career as
model in Paris/New York to marry my dad, raise 8 children, home school and run a
bustling household. She had her priorities right. Unfortunately, many people have not had this loving experience and I want to
share about what it takes to run a strong family.
I also worked as an award-winning sales person for Kay Jewelers for 6 years. Working as a sales person taught me two important lessons: how to relate to folks from all walks of life and how to sell. Two very important professional lessons for anyone starting their career.
